4-time Level Coat
|
Outline
|
|
The "4-time level coat" is an epoch-making thermosetting acrylic resin coating of a high solid type, developed for the purpose of holding down the amount of solvent to be used in an effort to considerably shorten a coating process and to cope with the environmental preservation.
It has a good adhesive strength for any sort of metals with the outstanding
weatherability, allowing for combined coating of primary and top layer coating.
The name of "4-time level coat" derives from the capability that allows coating for 8 - 100 microns by only one coating application, 4 times the coating thickness of the conventional bake-coating, 20 - 25 microns per coating. In general, bake-finish coating with a thicker thickness has the disadvantage that usually reduces the quality of finished-surface appearance due to excessive air involvement during the coating process with a thicker thickness and to skim resulting from simultaneous evaporation of solvent from the coated surface at bake-drying. On the other hand, the "4-time level coat" has successfully solved these problems, thereby providing smooth surface finish without unevenness by one coating process as a result of our ceaseless efforts.

Coating thickness of more than 100 microns is obtainable by coating.
It permits coating with 100 microns thickness on the vertical surface without development of any sagging or rise.
Provides smooth mirror finish owing to re-flow during a bake-drying process
Remarkable atomizing characteristics at coating despite higher thixotropy values.
Outstanding adhesive strength. Especially, remarkable adhesion onto castings of iron, aluminum, zinc, magnesium materials, etc.
Shortening of coating time
Considerable reduction in VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) in terms of compliance with the environment

How to use
|
|
The "4-time level coat" is applicable to air-spray, airless spray,
and electrostatic coatings. Due to the coating being of very high thixotropy
values, pressure feeding is recommended for supply of coatings when considering
the better workability of coating.
When air pressure is high in relation to thick coating, distortion
in coating thickness may occur. In such a case, please lower the air pressure.
Owing to the outstanding atomizing characteristics, merely providing
a pressure of more than 2 kg/cm2 can adjust necessary coating thickness,
despite the viscosity being comparatively high. Therefore, adjust the air
pressure according to the conditions of coating film.
